 Maruti Suzuki is one of the leading automobile manufacturers in India. The company has announced that there will be a price hike of 1.1% across all its models from January 16, 2023. This is an indicative figure, calculated using the ex-showroom prices of models in Delhi. The price hike is due to the increase in raw material and other input costs.


An estimated weighted average of increase across models stands at around 1.1 per cent.
With this, the price of the entry-level Alto 800 will go up by Rs 5,136 to Rs 3.03 lakh while that of the WagonR will become dearer by Rs 7,089 to Rs 4.42 lakh. The Swift hatchback will cost Rs 6,762 more at Rs 5.73 lakh while the Dzire compact sedan will get dearer by Rs 7,496 to Rs 5.89 lakh. The Baleno premium hatchback will see its price go up by Rs 9,113 to Rs 6.87 lakh while the Vitara Brezza compact SUV will be costlier by Rs 10,713 at Rs 7.34 lakh.

The price increase will vary across models, with the weighted average increase estimated at 1.1 per cent. Maruti Suzuki said the indicative figure is calculated using Ex Showroom prices of models in Delhi.

The company did not elaborate on how the price hike will be implemented across different states. However, it is likely that the increase will be uniform across India.

This is the second time Maruti Suzuki has increased prices this year. In October 2020, the company had hiked prices by up to 2 per cent due to an increase in input costs.

With this latest price hike, Maruti Suzuki is looking to offset the impact of rising input costs and ensure sustainable growth in the long run.

With this latest price revision, the entry-level Alto 800 will see a price hike of Rs 6,700 while the top-end S-Cross will cost Rs 47,000 more. Other popular models like the WagonR, Baleno and Vitara Brezza will see prices go up by between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000.
